In December, the Fugger Foundations are once again offering fresh-cut Bavarian Christmas trees at the Christmas markets in the Fuggerei. The trees come from their own farms in Blumenthal/Aichach and from Lower Bavaria. The trees available are the popular Caucasian fir as well as blue spruces and the traditional red spruce. For every Christmas tree that customers buy, they will receive a complimentary 2018 annual ticket to the Fuggerei.

The Christmas tree markets are run by Fuggerei employees. The proceeds will be used for the renovation of Fuggerei residences. The Fuggerei Foundation has been a non-profit foundation since 1521 and does not receive any subsidies from the city of Augsburg or the Free State of Bavaria. The foundation's mission is to provide living spaces for needy Augsburg citizens of the Catholic faith.
